CHALLENGE

GrandCamp Adventures was on a mission to help grandparents invest well in their relationships with their grandchildren and genuinely enhance the lasting impressions and life-lessons they want to pass on to them.

REALIZATION

Research showed that the more children know about their family history, the stronger their sense of control over their lives, the higher their self-esteem and the more successfully they believed their families function. It also revealed how important play is in helping kids learn and form relationships. What’s more, grandparents represent a specific opportunity – a $63 Billion market.

SOLUTION

To start, Point b created a family of animal avatar characters, the GrandPups, to represent kids and grandparents in new and innovative stories, games, music and crafts — all designed to deepen family bonds while capturing individual family narratives. Next we developed retailer programs and launched the company into the market through media, online and social channels.

EXCEEDINGLY  EFFECTIVE

Our program enabled GrandCamp Adventures to successfully secure representation with US International gift and toy reps and distributors, garner over 700,000 media impressions through local and national media, be featured on over 200 family and Mommy blogs and land national retailers including Neiman-Marcus and Hammacher Schlemmer.
